Hi all,
Just curious what each of you is planning to do for Beltane or if you get to this afterwards... what did you do. Group Ritual? Private Ritual? Walk in the woods? Just light a few candles?
Tomorrow is my daughter's Birthday party. Her B-Day is May 2nd. I did a little something on Friday night, but hope to get some more "me time" tomorrow. I'll write in again and say how everything went for me on Monday.
Have a wonderful Beltane.
Love and Light,
Dawna

Re: Beltane stories
Mon, May 2, 2005 - 4:14 PMMy Beltane day was just relaxing, enjoying the weather, doing some gardening. Went and saw a movie, Amityville Horror, which was really scary.
I did a private meditation thanking the goddess for springtime and some goals for the summer...Im doing a wellness program where I work, we have to do 10,000 steps a day and Im trying to reach that goal. Also, to just enjoy this summer, the past couple of summers have been stressful with a new house and job changes.
Happy one year old Birthday to baby! :)

Re: Beltane stories
Mon, May 2, 2005 - 4:42 PMI went to a group ritual at Pennwood State Park on the Bloomfield/Simsbury line held by a new age shop in the town where I live. (Gayle's Herb and Thyme Apothecary in Enfield, CT)
It was SO much fun! It started at noon. Of course it didnt' START at noon... I suspect there isn't a pagan gathering or group in the world that ever starts ON TIME, LOL.
The ritual was fun... they did a mini-play of the Holly King v.s. the Oak King. The people who played the roles hadn't seen the script before so it was *QUITE* amusing to see how dramatic they were falling over and dying. They used plastic swords to duel... it was just too funny for words.
Then afterwards there were two maypoles that people danced around. If you have never done this it is surprising difficult and complex! LOL But because it's so hard it makes it funny to watch everyone stand around trying to figure out whether to go over or under the person ahead of them. It makes for lots of laughs.
Then I saw a woman dancing all by herself so I joined her because I thought it was sad she was all alone. I think she appreciated the accompaniment.
Then we ate (and there was PLENTY) of food. Shortly after eating I left. They were going to have a drumming circle but the drums were too damp.
It was really awesome. The sun finally cleared away the clouds when we were in the middle of our ritual. I actually have a little sunburn on my cheeks from my day.
It was so much fun. A lot of people were dressed in renaissance garb. I wore my dress and cloak. I got a lot of compliments, which was nice.
I had an excellent Beltaine!
Happy Beltaine to All! And I hope your holidays were equally as satisfying!
Blessings!
